Ted Talk: Why you should know where you waste goes | Gift Lubele | TEDxUniversityOfSouthAfrica

Every person here has generated waste between 0.11 to 4.54 kilograms of trash, and some of us have put the garbage in a recycling bin. But how many of us know where the waste we generated will end up? This talk highlight the extent of our recklessness with the waste we produce and how it had led to over 9000 landfills in South Africa. Putting waste in bins is just not enough. Gift shares how for others the waste we produce is treasure, he challenges the general public to respect waste collectors and find out from the the value of the waste they pick up from bins.
This talk encourages the general public to practice responsible consumption and most importantly calls for us all to review our value of the waste we produce.
